A father who was left disabled after smashing his head in a fall from a bus was awarded £1.3 million in compensation at the High Court in London yesterday.
Vincenzo Bollito, 36, became trapped in the bus doors when the night driver accidentally closed them on him.
In the struggle to free himself, he fell from the bus and was seriously injured. He is now disabled and requires round-the-clock care.
Mr Justice Eady, in his ruling at the High Court yesterday, said: “The driver created an unnecessary danger.”
Mr Bollito, from Streatham, South London, will also receive £31,500 in annual payments. Bus operators Arriva admitted liability for the accident.
