A woman has launched a legal battle for up-to £100,000 compensation after being badly injured when she was hit on the head while being taken back to Sea View Yacht Club on a RIB.
Frances Jackson, aged 58, hit her head on a railing after Jack High allegedly drove too close to another vessel.
Ms Jackson suffered a traumatic brain injury, with severe pain, headache and nausea after briefly being knocked unconscious, the High Court was told.
Since the accident in July 2006, Ms Jackson has been taking medication for depression. Now she is claiming damages from Sea View Yacht Club after the accident.
The writ states: “The claimant relies on the open admission of full liability (with no contributory negligence) as contained in the defendant’s solicitors’ letter of 20 August, 2007.”
As well as suffering from headaches, fatigue, loss of memory, and irritability, Ms Jackson also claims she has difficulty controlling her temper, problems concentrating on multi-tasking, organising and numeracy, as well as suffering from vertigo.
Ms Jackson, who used to lead a busy life organising charity work for three different organisations, has had to reduce her activities since.
Sea View Yacht Club declined to comment.
