Restaurant Employee Sues for Wet Floor
Posted on Jun 30, 2009
An employee of a popular restaurant in Jefferson County, Texas, is suing her employers after injuring her wrist when she slipped in a puddle at work.
Bertha Jimenez slipped in a puddle of water on the floor of the restaurant that had not been mopped up on September 26th 2008.
The slip resulted in Jimenez having to take time off work, and lose valuable earnings, as well as the injury which caused her physical pain and suffering. Jimenez has also had to pay out for medical bills associated with the injury. She is now seeking unspecified damages and costs, through Jefferson County District Court, from Kaware LP, trading as Easy's Restaurant.
It is alleged that Easy's Restaurant failed in their duty to protect Jimenez from danger, failed to identify defects and make them safe, failed to keep the restaurant premises safe and failed to use "ordinary care".
